Food processing unit under Department of Community Science have been a FSSAi (Food Safety and Standards Authority of India) registered (Registration No. 21320264000059) unit which facilitates research development and training related to food science and post-harvest management of food crops. The unit provides training in value addition to farmers, entrepreneurs and other prospective agri-preneurs. The unit is equipped with fruit and vegetable processing machineries viz., fruit mill, pulper, electric vegetable cutter etc. The unit also have vacuum packaging machine and induction cap sealer for ensuring better packaging systems for processed foods.
